I had a RBTA in my sump and it has completely vanished.... I checked both pumps and all around the sump, no sign. Can it just dissolve?

Are you sure it hasn't crawled into a hole in a rock? They fit in the smallest of spots.

Has your skimmate production notably increased? If not - it's definitely still in there somewhere...they can really shrink up.

Keep looking, don't give up..... when your skimmer is running OVERTIME, you know that it is to late....

just b4 my RBTAs split, they look bad and small...maybe it is getting ready to split.

did the skimmer cup need to be dumped more the normal i had this happen once and my skimmer was off the hook for half a day!

I had the same thing happen to me. I had a green bubble tip for a long time. I added a rose bubble tip and it retracted and stayed like that for months. Then one night it decided to go for a walk and came out to the front of the tank, it was out for a few hours but still all retracted the next morning it was just gone! That happened like 3 months ago and it has yet to be found!
