I know most angels are not really reef safe and munch on sps polyps will they do the same to zoanthids?

I have found that those who eat coral, prefer softies espcially leathers. A couple friends of mine have seen them eat zoas. Well fed fish are less likely to nibble on them. There are plenty of angels like Eibli angels who love them and will no matter how hard you try to prevent them from doing so. I have even heard of a fairly reef safe larger angel, the Majestic, gobble a few down.

My emperor will eat zoas, but not nearly fast enough to destroy a whole colony. I think as long as there are other things for them to pick at they won't focus on one. I have two zoa rocks that might lose a polyp every now and then, but it would be hard to tell that there is any damage.

Be that as it may, I have owned 3 different Majestics who never touched a single coral. The most recent was fed very well fed on predominantly algae sheets (that I bought from a guy in Tacoma called Don) and hme chopped foods. The trick with Navarchus angels is to buy a large juvinile or small adult and train it with good foods. Given a choise between nasty tasting Zoas and fresh scallops(or nori), they will always go for the good stuff.

My Asfur Angel has decided Zoas are yummy and has wiped out most of them; I can only get them to grow in crevices he cannot reach. He/she did not bother them much at first but apparently acquired a taste and over the last 2-3 weeks has severely reduced the number of Zoas.
