Angry need to vent, Tank Vandalism!!

Well it was parents weekend here at central this past weekend. I was glad about it because lots of new people would have a chance to view the tanks that I take care of. Sometime durring the weekend, someone put a large scratch all the way across two tanks. They also enscribed "dory" and "nemo" into the acrylic. Its nothing a little buffing cant get rid of, but I am more than a little ticked about it. Just the fact that someone would have so much disrespect for the display blows my mind. The only thing I can reason is that someones little brother or sister was left alone in the science building and got bored. I would be even more mad if it turned out to be a central student. To vandalize such an obviously beautiful piece of work, that has taken lots of work on my part and additional effort from the biology club and everyone else who has donated their livestock, is beyond my imagination. I would be equally shocked if someone used a sharpie on one of the two large paintings or threw a rock at the beautiful glass bridge that adorn the main lobby. I am so mad.

Thank God nobody poored chemicals into the tank or cut a pipe. I'd be somewhat concerned about that now...

Sorry Blenniebabe. I hate that someone did that. 99% of people are good and can see beauty. A few hate beauty and want to destroy it. Imagine how painful it must be to live in a mind like that. All you can do is pity them. You can do the work to bring your tank back to what it was before. They will probley never know the joy of a job well done by thier own hands. It is a shame. Dont let it hurt you, pity them for what they can not see. HTH Steve

I'm so sorry this happened. How sad that someone would do this. Hopefully, the buffing will go well, and the tank will be back to its old self in no time. Keep us updated! Did you report it?

Ohh man !! that's so horrible and you should find the person or kid who did this. I hate people that don't have any respect for other people's work, but like steve says you should just pity them because they are just ignorants

Oh please don't get me started on vandals.......errrrrr they are nothing but thieves...stealing from us in that now you have to spend your dollars to fix what they have ruined. Imagine if they had scratched it so bad it had to be replaced instaed of being able to fix it. I'm sorry that happened to you Blennybabe, hope it buffs out well.

I'm sorry that happened but I'll bet all of the people that came to parent's night and saw the tank were just in awe. A very worthwhile project!
