I found this guy in my filter sock. He got as small at 2 inches then stretched himself as long as 4 inches. Is this some nice happy work that will eat the waste in my tank or something I should throw in the trash.

Looks like a common bristle worm.
Some people say they are a pest, but all they really do is eat detritus and uneaten food.

I've heard ppl sayin they eat clams. Yes they will hide under the clam but idk if they really eat em. Not a pest IMO

If there is one, then there are many more. So one not going back in wouldn't make any difference.
It's said that they multiple because of available food, so if you see a ton of them, then you may need to vacuum the substrate a little more.

I have a bare bottom right now. This is the first time I've seen one of there guys. About a year ago, I thought I saw something in the rocks after the lights went out that didn't look familiar but I wasn't able to get a good look at it. By the time I got a flashlight out it was gone.

I didn't. I try to use forceps tp pick things up. Especially when it looks like a centipede. lol

Many years ago i removed all of them from my tank. I ended up getting stung by one and that sh$t HURT! So, out they all went.
