What HOB skimmer is better by opinion, the Remora Pro or the CPR Dual? Both are in the $200 range...

The Remora is one if not the best HOT skimmer IMO, I have not heard good things about the CPR.

I agree with Robert - the AquaC Remora Pro is a great skimmer. I also like that you can purchase a surface skim box for them, too: AquaC Remora Pro Surface Skim Box

According to marinedepot website the remora pro is rated for a 75+ I would go with the mag3 pump to effective on a 90gal tank.
I would also add that the pre-filter that Nikki mentioned will be must if you're not going to use a sump, I had a real problem with my old tank it too was sumpless and I had a problem with a buildup of organics in the surface looked like a cloud which impedes good gas exchange and light penetration JMO
