Well we broke down and started up a 55 long, in addition to the 46 bow we have going already. Our plan is to make the 55 a softie tank and the 46 the stony. So far, she's pretty bare-bones ghetto, but hey, a tank's a tank. Jason built the "stand," aka the thing that is strong enough to hold the tank, and we got it into place so that we can do the finish work on it later. We plan to have it look like the stand/hood that he built for the 46.
We've got our live rock in there and fully cycled, so today we put all the zoa's, mushies, and the toadstool in there, and got 3 chromis for it. We were thinking we'd move the two clowns outta the 46, and put them in there, but after the catching attempt, we may be scrapping that idea.
In other news, we also got OUR FIRST CLAM!! Yay!!:eek2: I think(?!) it's a crocea, but she's a cutie! We also got a splendid mandarin and a sifting goby for the 46. Super excited! So far, all the new additions look good, the sifter has been decontaminated by the cleaner shrimp, the clam already did his first "i don't like this spot" eject, so that was neat. So let us know what you think of the newbies!! - Dana

Oh yea, and there is a little okinawae clown goby in the 55 too. I had the cutest little rusty clown goby to go in there too, but we figured out yesterday that he passed away while they were chillin in the refugium, awaiting their release date. Poor lil guy. But yellow goby likes the new digs!

Looks really good! I love the open rockwork. One suggestion: consider moving the rock a little farther from your glass.... that way as coral grows, you can still get a scraper between it and the glass for cleaning algae.
Great work :)

Thanks everybody!! Thats a good point Dan! Actually some of that rock is going back down to the fuge for the 46...had to break it down to replace one of the baffles so we put the rubble pieces in that tank for the time being.

We just got home from a very generous Adam & Crystal's house, with a BUNCH of new frags, so once we get them all in and acclimated I'll get some more pics up. Now if the danged IC gel we ordered would stinkin get here, we could actually ATTACH some things! Imagine that? lol

superglue GEL from the dollar store works good till you get your ICEGEL..
I used that for months and I know a few local reefers that only use this..

Hmmm.... We may just do that. But you know, as soon as i go get it, the mail will get here with the IC gel. Yah. lol. Adam, everything is opening up really good, the anthelia is ticked, but the green monti and the birdsnest are already polyped out! The fire & ice guys look cool all bunched up, they're glowing!!

Alright, finally got the rest of the stand and the hood close to being done. Will probably add some more wood work to the stand and give it a coat of paint and call it good. The whole front panel can come off easilly, for access below the tank for a fuge/sump in the future. Also some pics of some wavy arm anthellia, and some green palys we got from Adam and Crystal.

that a seaclone i see on the back ? i actually liked that skimmer worked good on my 20 gallon. just needs a little TLC every now and again.

Heck yes thats a seaclone! lol! She was dong great, but shes crappin out on us again! Man! And Mike, I would love to come get some corals form you!!! And It's awesome that Jay managed that nice leg shot of me in there with the tank. Hot. Lmao....
