I am new to washing as most know already I have a fishing buddy J peezy also looking for more hot spots to catch some fish plan on getting a boat after my daugher gets her drivers lics. I will then buy a boat and truck combo hehe still working on the quads lol for hunting.... just seeing who else fishes and where abouts have to had good luck?

Justin, I've had my best luck at the supermarket :D. The gear is free (a big metal or plastic box on wheels that acts as a perfect net) and there is an endless supply of beer and chips.

Seriously though I love to fish but haven't done it in years and have never river fished. I know there are tons of great spots around here so hopefully someone will let you in on a few.

Entrance to the Nisqually and up by the wreck have been hitting. Watch the shelf there though

I've been known to catch me a Sockeye or two. My fav salmon.

(after being in the cooler all day on the boat. lol)

I'm prety much a Fishaholic Salmon, Steelhead, Trout, Bass ~ Ocean, Sound, River, Stream, Lake or Pond so if you get up north at all I'd be happy to take you out on the Snohomish River by boat or up on the Skykomish or Stilly by bank. We should have a bunch of Coho showing up very soon as Sekiu finally had a serious number show up on Friday. In your area Salt = Pt Defiance, Browns Pt, Dash Pt, Nisqually Flats and Rivers = Puyallup, Carbon, Green and Nisqually or a little further south and hit the Cowlitz
PM me if your interested in hitting the Sky or Snohomish

Are you a gear or fly rod fisher? I love getting out on a river with my fly rod in hand. Steelhead, salmon, trout...don't always get lucky but since I always take a flask, cigar, and good food it's never a waste of time.

Mike

Down south the Hump Tulips and skokomish are great for big Kings. I fish the Green, and Puyallup, and the Carbon.Just havn't gone this year

I flyfish only. Cant handle the Washington combat fishing. I fish backcountry streams for trout usually just a 3wt. Gives me plenty of time to scout for hunting season.

Hey Mike, mostly I'm a light line gear user 8-12 lb for Salmon/Steelhead and 4-6 lb for Trout & Smallmouth (spinners & plugs) w/ scent very rarely I'll resort to bait like sandshrimp on a jig. I have most of my garage ceiling covered in rod & reels but also have an assortment of fly rods from 7-1/4' 2-3wt, 9' 4wt, 8-1/2' 5-6wt, 9' 7-8wt but have ran out of fishing buddies who will make the effort to flyfish anymore. I really miss flyfishing for Cutts & Summer Steelies on the upper forks of the Sky or Beckler river.
I just got back from a couple days out to the coast fishing the Wilipa & Chehalis rivers, the Kings were a plenty but mostly native's (not legal) and just a few Silvers showing up. Here is a couple pics of some of the Kings we had to release. I say had to since it's just not right as both rivers had commercial nets in downstream of our location. Then a couple pics from last years Silver fishing on the Chehalis & Sol Duc rivers. Like Don I love to fish the Alpine Lakes & Streams, can't stand the Combat Fishing so make it a priority to fish weekdays and/or hike into less occupied areas. We need to get a small group of RFers together for some fishing sometime I think that would be very cool.
