I know the picture stinks. I havent added any livestock to this tank in months. All of a sudden I see this brownish black stuff clinging to this Cap. Doesnt seem to be on anything else though. I figure I would just dip it. But wanted you all to look at it anyway. The tank has not been happy for a few weeks, definitely less polyp extension as a whole, I havent noticed anything else wrong. Magnesium is low, but other than that. Nothing has changed.

What is the flat coral just to the left in the picture? It appears to be a chemical burn from another coral. 3-4" minimum separation between corals is best. The polyps below also have the potential to sting the SPS coral depending on the proximity.

Kevin

The Flat one is another Cap. Those brown things hanging on are on the top and other outer edges of the coral as well. Could it be flat worms? I guess I could take it out and dip it just to make sure. I could proabably get a better look at them that way.

Thanks

Flatworms will cover the coral surface and either leave white spots at random on the coral or show no effect. If you take a turkey baster and blow the area you should see some animal come off if you think it is a predator.
