Newbie question

Hey all,
I've been lurking for a while and I have a question. I have a 72gallon bowfront I set up with live rock last week. I was planning on adding some hermits in a week or two, but after reading this thread I might not...

It sounds like the only hermits to get are the Scarlets...but are there any other options that will do the job without being little poops?

its been my experience, and that is limited, that snails work better. I like them cause they work your glass and rocks. Hermits cant get the places i have seen my snails. I have also found you cant do both as teh hermits will kill the snails and take their shells. good luck with what ever you decide just wanted to put in my 2 cents worth

Brassmonkeyboy - Welcome to Reef Frontiers!!

I agree with saltfishlover - a variety of snails is great. If you do decide to add a few hermits, be sure to include some empty snail shells for them to upgrade in.

I switched to totally snails and I love the cleaning jobs they do =) I just need to catch my emrald now..... Everytime I look in the tank He is "hugging" my stylo. The tank is big enough and the current isn't THAT strong that he has to hug my only little coral. He MUST be up to no good.... I knew he'd turn... He's a CRAB!

Finally caught the infamous emrald. He's doing nicely away from my corals in my exile crab tank! =) I don't know why on earth he was bothering my Stylo...
