OK I have just ID'd the 2 new corals..man I gotta stop goin to this pet store..they said I got toadstool corals.... but what I really got-by looks-is
http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_Display.cfm?pCatId=681

a colony polyp-super colored Orange..it says he's semi-aggressive as is the other "waving hand" coral I got...how far is far enough apart??

just found this this is very similar to the "unknown"/waving hand polyp

And will they sting my fishes too? or just each other? I know the mushroom coral will attack other corals...man I am not getting anything else for the tank for some time to come...except the rest of our "needed" rock...

is 200lbs of rock really needed for an 80g tank?

payge, you need to get them out of your tank right away. I will be there to pick them up!!!
Believe me??
Oh well, you don't need to worry about them bothering your fish. The zoanthids become aggressive by growing over other corals as will the waving hand.

I wouldn't think you would need 200lbs. for a 80.
I would think 100 to 140 or so. It also depends on how you want to aquascape your tank and how dense the rock is.

I got the pretty lil buggers from Pets and Pals in Gig Harbor..for the size maybe 1/2 doz "buds" on a rock was 5 bucks...they sure are a vibrant orange!! I got the tiny ones so in case it was a bad investment I didn't spend too much $$ the guy on Tues said oh 12 dollars each..Im thinking man they are attached to a PEBBLE!! 12 bucks?!! but the bigger ones run 60+ bucks..specially if they are on a big rock...though with their rock being 5.99/lb it Must just be how many "branches/nubs/sections" are on it eh?

Thanks :)

Good price for a small frag.
Nice zoanthids with good color can be very expensive sometimes.
Lets see some pictures

will get some as soon as they calm down and open up fully the orange ones are 95% out and the lil pinkish ones are 10% open lol..i think these may be placed upside down tho and they arent liking it...how long before I know if they are in wrong? they sure are tiny :p

ahh..each side was a very rich purply/fushcia color..they are now poppin out..just tried to get some pics..my Sony Cybershot 3.2 mega pixel isnt too great at fishy stuff..or maybe its just me lol

the tentacle one is just soo tiny..people prob wouldn't have even noticed it in the coral tank :p

Hello,
The type of rock will determine the amount you need. For example Fiji Premium weighs about twice as much as Pulkani. You would only need about 40-50lbs of that and since the price per/lb is the same the cost would be about half. If you plan on keeping corals be sure to leave enough room for your new additions and not put in too much live rock.

Regards,
Kevin
