I have a second hobby...DCS Trains. (Digital Command System-remote control). I have been building and landscaping O-Guage since 2008 when I am not playing w/ the fishes. Materials are laminated polystyrien layers that are cut, ground, hot trimmed. Acrylic w/stain layers and ground misc. hobby textures. faux lambswool stapled over soft foam w/ applied dyes and textured. My board is 10' x 7.6' w/folding leg supports. Some day I'll show it off at the expo's and my TCA club. As I mentioned, DCS, I can run 3 sets at a time. As the DCS controls the power within the locos running variable power. Just go to my train album link in my signature.

Anyone else run trains? What Guage?

I have quite a bit of stuff in a box in storage. My dad built us a ping pong table sized layout when I was 9 or 10 for Christmas in the mid 70's. I think it's O gauge stuff but I'm not sure. It's 3 rail track with a really old big black box heavy transformer. There are two locomotives and several other types of cars. One locomotive has the liquid smoke you put in with a syringe. Funny how they gave us kids syringes to play with back then. There is also a Spirit of '76 lighted caboose there. I had a train shop tell me it was worth something quite a while ago. All the equipment was used when I got it so I really don't know how old some of the stuff is. It stayed with me until my late teens when I finally broke it down to clean up Mom's basement and promptly boxed it up and forgot about it. I actually thought it was lost forever years later after I moved out. When we moved my Mom when I was in my mid-30's I found the box and before my brother even got an eye on it I hid it away and took it home. He now knows I have it and every time it comes up he bugs me about it but I know him. He would just sell it all to make a quick buck. That's why I hid it from him when I found it. I tried to set it up a couple of years ago thinking we might put it around the Christmas tree but I couldn't get anything to move. I didn't put much into it and just put it all back away. Maybe some day...

I love HO guage trains. My dad had some expensive locos he wouldnt let us play with.
I love setting up track and running the trains. My dad has sold everything he had though. I think. He is a real train buff.
