OBD is going to give us a behind the scenes tour of their production facilities.

OBD is also going to talk about some of the innovations they have made with the release of their signature filtration systems. How do we achieve optimal skimming? What's the difference between bio-balls and bio-pellets and what are the benefits to using them in our filtration systems? What are the techniques to maximize their benefits and are there any negative aspects or dangers to incorporating them into our systems?

Here are some pictures of the event. Thanks to everyone for being there and to Oceans by Design for opening their business to us!

We were given a tour of their production facility where they make custom aquariums to the customer's specifications

We got to take a look back at their filtration room and learned a little bit about their extraordinary quarantine procedures. I was especially impressed by their gigantic skimmer and the junk they manage to pull out from it.

Then, Eric talked about their custom filtration system and we took a deeper look into both new and old methods of filtration. We even talked a little bit with Todd about Ozone and it's use in the hobby. It's something we might be organizing a meeting around in the future.
