So I have a slight aptasia problem, some may call it an infestation. I have decided to try berghia (sp?). Where can I find them? The lfs's don't have any. If anyone has a lead on some, I would be greatly appreciative. I decided to try them as I don't have any predators that would want to eat them.

barrier occasionally has some also try saltyunderground.com. and some people locally are growing them or may have ordered them and are try to get rid of them before they die from starvation. you can also use peppermint shrimp sometimes.

Well I gess the process has begun. We need photos of the tank so folks can see the power of berghia. Any way that's got to be some highbrid aiptasia cuz they sure are growing fast.

I just started down this road a few months ago! :) My tank was overrun with aiptasia after 5 years as a FOWLR tank with two heavy polluters in it...the aiptasia loved the fish doo and poor water quality and spread all over. About three months ago one of the big fish died, I unloaded the second on someone with a larger tank, and I began cleanup and conversion to a mixed reef tank. I answered a classified ad on here for berghia after coming to the conclusion that they were the best and cheapest option to get rid of the aiptasia...just not the fastest. At first, the process was really slow (I purchased for juveniles for my 46 gallons) and I was lucky to see one of the berghia cruising the tank after lights out every couple of weeks. There were several times that I was ready to give up on them and start injecting aiptasia again, but each time I was close to doing that, one of the berghia would show itself and remind me that they were still there and doing what I'd gotten them for even though there was no visible difference in the aiptasia population. Over the last week, though, I've seen both the now-adult berghia and BABIES actively feeding at night. I can't help but silently cheer them on when I catch them on the hunt. :) I can't wait to see the difference in another month! So, my advice...be patient and they'll definitely clear your aiptasia problem up.

Ya slow for sure but verry affective. First we pout 2 in not much of a change. The next dose was 6 after 3 weeks there was some balding patches on a few rock where we placed them. 2 dose was 5 now the weighting game. I think breeding in the tank is being stalled due to prey feeding on the freshly hatched eggs. They will win the fight one at a time

So a 4th dose of berghia totaling 6. More balding patches in spots of placement but none out side of that. I'm sure I know of 2 things in the tank stalling the breeding process. The next dose in 2 or 3 week's is going to be 10. So far in the tank somewhere is a total of 19?
