Can aptasia travel from my sump into my display tank

yes, not only can the anemone move on its own, it also expells spores that spread in the water column and grow where they land.

if you can take the piece with aiptasia on it, out of the water to kill it, it would be the best. then rinse the piece before putting it back in the tank.
