Aqua Medic SP3000 ATO pump not working

I installed a SP3000 ATO system on the new tank today. Well it will make about 1/2 turn then struggle a little then turn again. In short it is not running like it should. Anyone have any ideas or should I just send it back?

Sounds like there is a problem with the motor on that peristaltic pump, and you should contact the vendor you purchased it from for a new replacement.

Its normal the motors are garbage. Does it have a wallwart or a regular 110v plug. See the thick goob under the plastic cover. It wont work with it and it wont work without it. Heat it with a blow dryer to soften it up.
These pumps are fine as long as you never turn them off.

It has a wallwart Don. Got it from drfostersmith. Their trch support is about worthless. They are sending me a new one out on Monday. It will be cut on and off constantly. It did not have any "goob" on it until I put it there If you got a better idea I will call them back and tell them to keep it.

Let it run dry for awhile with some goob on the tube. The low voltage ones are much worse than the 110v models but of course you want low votage for a ato.
Honestly the single float switch is asking for trouble and the lack of pump reliability is asking for trouble the other direction its a loose loose.
