Aquatic Dreams, What a dream!

Reef Aquarium & Tank Building Forum

Help Support Reef Aquarium & Tank Building Forum:

O.K. Guys. Here’s the plan.

I’ll leave my place at six in the morning with my wife. We’ll pick up Todd in Tacoma, and then drive up to Bellevue and pick up Brad and then head on out. What I’m hoping is that WaterDogs can meet us in Bellevue where I think his car would be much safer than anywhere else along the I-90 corridor. (Brad, can WaterDogs leave his car at your house/apt. complex?) If that works out, we should be Spokahoochie around 11ish, just in time lunch/Kevin opening his shop. We’ll play that by ear, meaning my loverly wife, who seven weeks pregnant, will make the call.

I drive a Jeep Grand Cherokee, so there are seatbelts for everyone. Just remember to shower that morning! I'm also bringing a cooler for the frags.

If there are any questions, concerns, @#*&%, gripes, or complaints; just email me! I’ll be here all day!

MarineDreamer and bradreef,

Sounds like a great plan, I drive to Redmond almost everyday to work so meeting in Bellevue would work well. Do you have an address and approximate time? I can PM my phone number to you...

Dwaine :)

Please Stand By….

We are experiencing temporary technical problems……

So, not wanting to put you all in nasty, dirty car, I went and washed and waxed it. In that process, I killed my battery. No problem, I’ll take my wife’s car and jump it, right? Ah, look no positive or negative symbol… ah but there’s a red wire. Red is positive. Not in my Jeep!!! So, the car’s getting towed in to the dealership tomorrow, and hopefully they’ll be able to pull off a miracle and fix my car in one day. Why, yes; I do believe in the magical Coral Fairy! If that doesn’t fly, I’m hoping that Todd will be willing to drive.

Stay tuned!!!

Update:

After calling the Insurance Company at six this morning, I was able to get the car into the dealership at 7:45. After talking with Brain, we were able to start my Jeep and it ran as long as you pushed the gas pedal down. Brain seemed to think that this is a good sign. He told me that he should be able to have me “back on the road this afternoon.” But, the diagnostic computer won’t be open until noon. So we’ll see.

I was able to get a hold of Todd yesterday evening, sort of. His cell phone antenna is broken and makes for a very interesting conversation. He says that if it comes down to it, that we’ll be able to make the trip in his car. So the trip is still on!

I just got off the phone with the dealership; they don’t seem to be able to find anything wrong with the Jeep if you discount the melted battery. They’ll put a new one in and give me a call after checking out the charging system.

So, one day, $115.70, new battery, and reset the idle speed and the Jeep’s rearin’ to go!

See ya all in the morning!!!

Thank you for making the trip and helping to support the store. I hope it was worth the long drive.

I enjoyed meeting you all.

Best regards,
Kevin

back at last and have the airline tubing dripping away. It was worth the trip for sure. Kevin thanks for going out of your way and showing us your tank. wish we had the sps over on this side of the mountain. Trev thanks for driving.

Great big thanks to Kevin for his hospitality...got mine a drip'n as well. Thank you Trevor for driving, it was a long trip there and back...you da man!

Wow, Kevin!!! Thanks so much for your time and patience. I really enjoyed being able to see your home system in person. Pictures just don’t do it justice. And those were just the happiest tangs I have ever seen. And I loved that the Copperband could only be chased off by the biggest Sailfin that I have ever seen when you were hand feeding him! Thanks again!

Todd and Brad: Anytime guys, anytime! I really don’t know anything, so hearing about lighting suggestions, canopy suggestions, generally tapping other people’s knowledge helps out a lot. And I enjoyed just sitting there listening to you two talk about the corals that you guys wanted, and what the husbandry requirements were for them.

Eric, I can’t say enough about your system. Holy freak! That’s a nice tank. And thank you for the salsa. It was great. I’m just sorry that it took us so long to get your new specimens back to you.

Hopefully, in about two months, I’ll have this 120 up and runnin’ and we can really get down to business! I think that you Gentlemen know what I’m talkin’ about!

I'm glad you guys had a fun and productive trip; for some reason bradreef's email with a map never came my way. :( So instead not doing anything reef related on Sat. I went down to Coral Beauty in Ballard since everyone says so many good things about them! They are everything people say they are; I left with several hundred dollars less in my pocket and a little be more educated to boot and made two new friends... :)
I do look forward to meeting kevinpo and his Aquatic Dreams some time soon!
