I have a 55G, started with PC, as my corals grow my taste change, moved to 6x54W-T5's. Now thinking of jumping to either MH+T5 or LED.
Had I known this, I could've gotten T5's first then add MH.
For my 55G, I was thinking 2x150W-MH + 2x or 4x54W-T5.
Your proposed light should be good (I think) for sps.
Anyway, just sharing my short experience...
MC...I took the same route PC, PC + T5, now T5+MH.
I have been surfing the forums lately to learn more about photoperiods. There is a lot of info and I have found out that I had my lights on too long. As a result my corals have browned out and growth has been slow. My point being that it appears in addition to light color and intensity, your photoperiod can have a major impact on both color and growth of corals.
