I have a arrow crab about 5 inches with legs, that i got about 2 months ago, and has grown like a weed. He is suspect in a number of missing inhabitants... Animals missing-6 Green Chromis, Clown Goby, Blue Leg Hermit Pieces laying around, and a large sally lightfoot crab. A few days ago, we caught him munching on a blue legs legs... Then, later in the week, saw it eating one of our brand new green chromis, and was gone in less than 10 hrs. All fish in tank, now stay away, because when they get close, he stabs at them with those long, pointed legs and his conehead top. Should i put him in the sump with the other evil doers? Or does anyone want an evil, fish shredin crab?

The Arrowcrab is just doing what they do....they are very good at eating things. Most crabs are very good at eating things.

Sump 'im!

Well, emerald crabs may or may not eat algae; it seems to be hit and miss. But even if yours does, watch out for it when the carapace gets over the size of a quarter or so - they usually switch to a carnivorious diet about then.

that is what i figured. i don't want a repeat of my sally lightfoot. i bought her when she was super small and she was perfect then she grew up. i had to break down most of my tank and just stay next to the tank waiting for her to come out so i could try to net her. finally one day i caught her on a powerhead and got her. i need to figure a way to get my bubble algae under control. i think when i moved my tank a few weeks ago i popped some of the bubbles and it shot spores through out my tank and now it's spread. *sigh*

dude, you couldnt possibly have as much bubble algae as I had. Mine was sick, i mean freakin sick amounts all over my live rock, you couldnt even see the coraline. I got all of mine out with a toothpick (actually a bar sword, the ones you stir drinks with.) and picked them all off without breakin many. just poppem out and netem up. it took me about 2-2 hour sessions, but there all gone. crabs are evil.

DOODD !! if the crab is evil just give it to me !!! :p i have red slime and a bunch of green algae in my tank... in a few words my poor tank needs someone to eat all these stuff so if you wanna get rid of mr. meanie you know who to call hehe :)

I have a huge sallylightfoot also though I have not seen him eat anything though his spike feet are starting to damage my corals. They all molted on the same day, yesterday...wierd.....evil...

The sally lightfoot is a algae eating machine,

might be tough to catch these buggers.

Spongebob...you want to trade that cool hut you have?

JK

If I can sump him you can have him..

it took me about a month to finally get my sally lightfoot out. i was on the verge of getting a trap for it then i finally netted it.

mine was about 6 inches across when i finally got it out. it was killing snails as well as trying to trap my fish.

I bet, he is super fast and does not seem to be interested in the food I feed everything else in the tank...

i feel bad for your corals :( because corals are beautiful.
I have a few xenas that are almost dying :( because of the red slime i have in my tank and, well most of my tank now is just green algae.i keep cutting it everytime i change the water of my tank and still it grows fast, so yeah i think one of those sallylightfoot would be fat and happy in my tank hehe :)
