I have seen threads on micro bubles before but not really clear on if it is bad for the display tank and if it is why is it bad. I have a 55 gallon tank and get some micro bubles in the main display that comes from my aqua clear 50 power head. I have the power head 3 inches from the surface now and it occasionally still spits out a spray of really small bubles. Is this bad? Should I change to a water fan? I also adjusted the flow on the power head to see if that would help. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Wont hurt anything, just ugly to some. The ocean has more microbubbles than a tank ever would.

How new is your system. Think i saw somewhere that until you get a nice slime coat in your plumbing you will have bubbles. I set my 150 up last month and now my micro bubbles are all but gone and i havent added anything to the tank to stop them.

My tank has been up for a couple of months now. The bubles come from my HOB filter when the water level gets lower and sometimes from my aqua clear power head. Im thinking of getting a koralia or something other than the aqua clear to move my water around.
