Hey guys its been a while! I had some issues with my tank after moving into my house. I saved what coral I could in my wife's nano and ran a FOWLR for a while. We found out my wife was pregnant and she decided she wanted the giant tank out of here. So I picked up a drilled 65 gallon and threw together a sump. After a long tank swap process the new tank is up and going! I picked up a 3W led fixture. I think I am going to buy one more just to be on the safe side as each one would replace a 250w MH. Anyways lets get to the fun part pictures!

Not a bad price but from the looks of it they are not adjustable which is definitely a feature I couldn't live without.

How old is the tank currently?

The tank itself is about 3 weeks old now. The rock and most of the water was all from the old tank so there was not much of a cycle. The coral is from my tank before the crash that I saved in my wife's nano. I have held off on the LEDs for a while now but after reading a thread on RC about these black box units I had to give one a shot. These do not have any dimming capability. They do however have individual power cables for blue and white. The guy has been wanting to get some units with dimming and advanced controllers however there are some patent issues. He currently offers 14k and 20k units. If you are looking for a more advance unit I have heard good things about E.shine Systems - LED Aquarium Light, CREE Aquarium Light, LED Grow Light, LED Hydro Grow Light..

I am not sure how this forum is on linking to other reef forums but here is the thread that convinced me to purchase one. chinese led lights - Page 24 - Reef Central Online Community The thread went from I am not so sure about these Chinese black box units to where can I get one. I cant complain about the unit at all. Its brighter then my 250W MH, uses half the wattage to run, and I can run the blues and whites on a different schedule. I would expect within the next few months we will see some black box units with more advanced features like sunrise, sunset, cloud simulation, etc.
