ASM G-3 skimmer

Anyone use this skimmer?
I have been looking at getting a new skimmer or perhaps making a new one? From what I have read the G-3 sounds like the best bargain for the buck? BTW my total system is around 175 gal.

Heres what i gathered, (i have a 220) The G3 is the best skimmer for the buck, everyone loves it, people from 90g to 175g commonly use them, everyone is happy. Some people with 150+ tanks use the G4, this PS needs to be mod'd and is a good skimmer, (after you get the Sedra 9000 pump for it) Everyones question is why do you have to mod an expensive piece of equipment? Thats what i gathered, and im in the same boat as you, im just thinkin ill buy one G3 and if i need more PS'n ill get another G3, lol. HTH Jidz

g3 are ok the g4 are p/s g4x has the 9000 on and i think 1 inch taller

I have the G-3 on a 75 gallon with a 20 gallon sump. It kicks butt. Lots o Skimate. All you can drink, and enough left over for soup. Its a cool skimmer. Got mine from www.vividaquariums.com a sponsor of reef frontiers. Steve

Jiddy get the ASM G4X or for 55$more the G5 and be done with it, it will work fine, he was talkign about the G4 which is shorter. For 55$ more, I'd get the G5, just make sure it fits under the tank stand or wherever..
