ASM G-4+ Protein skimmer Review

Hey calling in some help here. I am looking into getting a ASM G-4+ Protein Skimmer w/ Sedra 9000 Pump and would like any advice on ASM skimmers and or things to watch out on these guys I have been a "Aqua C" Guy for so long I haven't looked but this one is used and some trading may be had ?
So have any members had one? seen one in use??

I have a friend with a G-4 skimming a 370G system and he seems happy enough with it.
This is what his 150 display looks like. You be the judge

I have the ASM G-4x. I think they are the same except the 4+ is 6" shorter.
The asm's aren't bad skimmers, just not a great skimmer. You do need to do the recirc mod on the body and do the mesh mod on the pump.
They are made kind of cheap and not put together very well, but with a couple of the mods, they will work.
I'd look at the new octo extreme line, if I were you.
I think I will.

I love my asm on a 270 with 50 gal sump it does the job empty the cup once a week or so of some nasty stuff that will make you gag just looking at it let alone the smell. I run the water a little high on the body so it sits pretty deep in my sump it was just easy to dial in that way and more consitant I havent had any pobs or complaints.
