ive been trying to find a good skimmer for my tank. 100 gal with about 10 gal in the sump. ive been reading and looking at the Asm G2 skimmer i know its rated for 200 gal but i might get a bigger sump later on. is there any other skimmers that are up to the par and wont break the bank thanks in advance :)

You are really better off buying something like roscoe suggested. The asm skimmers are pretty crappy.

I have the SWC 200 and it rocks! It pretty much plug and play the easiest skimmer I have ever used.

see this is why i ask before i commit :). thanks, not sure if ive seen the SWC in the stores thats all. lol

get ahold of skimmerwhisperer, I'm sure he knows the whereabouts of the best deals on one for you.

My lfs just got a new kind in to replace the asm because he has been having issues with the pumps. It looks pretty sweet though, i can get the details if you like? (for the life of me i can't remember the name, but i do know it had a cool one)

Problems with the popular Sedra pumps? did he say what the problem was?

Sweet deal =) I just filed mine, 8-14 days. Which means i can finally put a door on my stand and order new lights =)

yeah i need to buy another light and found a sweet deal on CL so i might be upgrading my tank to a 120 :) but that skimmer wil still be doing good. it withstands up to 175 with a heavy bioload :) maybe get a 55gal tank to make a new sump lol
