Question before the house: do all the common off the shelf ATO systems use some type of float switch for the sensor??

Does anyone know of anything that may use something else.... i.e conductivity sensor, reflected light, etc? that would elimiate the use of a mechanical sensor switch?

We've been playing around with reflected light sensors (IR sensors) and it seems to be working.. of course, needs some in-depth testing, but I'm thinking, yeah! No stuck on float switches :D

Or you talk to a friend and get an industrial grade float switch that is know to last for years..
And always use a backup!

Hi, can i know that the back up float switch should put on top the normal float switch, right ?? And if i use the vertical float switch then the back up float switch must place up side down and connect the back up float switch wire to the same power code wire?? Thanks...!!
