I Have had this cube running for about 3 months now, this is Paul Hamby's (fragmans) old cube. I am tired of the cramped up space under the stand along with mixing kalk every day, noise from all the pumps and of course the heat! So it is time for a few changes! first I am going build a custom sump for the cube, I will double my water volume with the sump being 120 gallons. This sump is going to be plumbed into my garage so all the pumps, chiller, skimmer, calcium reactor, kalk reactor and mixing tanks will all be out of the house!

Tonight I started to build the Kalk reactor which I will automate into my ATO
Tomorrow I will begin work on my sump..

I will begin to post pictures of the whole process tomorrow!!!

Sounds great Matt - you won't regret the move to the garage- I promise. I'll be looking forward to watching your progress.

Cant wait! I have always wanted to do that, but cant with the placement of my tank. But, i deffinently plan on doing something like that on every future tank.

good luck

Well I am almost finished with my Kalk reactor, all I need to do to it is put in the two speed fit fittings and the acrylic screws to hold the top on. Here are some pictures of my progress....

Here is the 120 gallon tank that I will be customizing into a very large refugium/sump that will be plumbed into my garage....

There are sure to be many more pictures to come on this large project....

well today I started building the refugium and baffles into my 120 for the sump/fuge, I had under estimated how difficult it was going to be to cut and form the new pieces of acrylic to the bowed tank. definately not as precise as I wanted it. the 120 is bowed 5/16'' in the middle so cutting the acrylic was a real chore to make it fit...
I will post pictures of the sump tomorrow...

Thanks for looking
Matt
