Image is too small, try and post something larger 600x480 pixels. It's more than possible on the starfish but not that likely. More commonly this will be a hydroid jelly, Staurocladia oahuensis (I think?).
Without seeing what you are looking at, could be this one. Garf says they are predatory, but they have never bothered my Poccilipora or Stylophora. Never even seen them on any of the 5 colonies in the display. See them eating algae all the time.

Thanks Steve, that is what I also observed in my lettle ecosystem. Asking around, have yet to find one reefer here who has seen an Asterina star feeding on any coral.

I don't know about feeding but I did observe one asterinia walking across my basketball sized Monti Cap and it left a white trail where it had gone. I watched him for about 15 minutes. In front of him was orange brown and after he passed, turned white.
