My new Yellow Tang has white stripe on each side. It is stressed induced I figured. Any way of helping the née guy out so he isn't so stressed. I have plenty of hiding spots and feed him plenty.

Thanks

what size is the tank?
what size is the fish?

yes, this does sound like acclimation stress, and depending to the answer to the above questions, the white stripes may or may not be able to be cured.

Both Yellow Tangs the we have brought home had white stripes on their sides. The cleared up after a day or two so we just figured it was stress from the transfer. Did you quarantine your Tang?

Size of the tank is a 55 gallon. The fish is small maybe an inch to inch and a half. The stress goes away and comes back when my tank gets a little warm.

try keeping your tank temp under control. i have a few 2 liter bottles i filled with water and just keep them inside my freezer. just set them in the sump when the temp starts to climb
