Just a general wondering of what people use for backgrounds or do they even use them at all?

iT IS nice for the fish to have a place behind the rock where they can go hide. any fish store has backgrounds they sell. Black makes the coral stand out more.

I have what is called deep blue sea. It fades from dark blue black at the bottom to dark blue at the top. I like it.

my back piece of acrylic is black on my tank. The tank are much more comfortable in the back of the tank, than they were in my last tank which did not have this.

My background is black, however, coralline is covering the majority of it. Some people paint the background on, and others don't use anything.

I picked up a large piece of foam core at Office Depot and spray painted it. I like the foam core because it is rigid and does not show ripples. Also my tank is 30" high and I could not find an background that big.

The background looks black, but is really dark blue.

It's personal preference really. The coralline will cover it up eventually, it is just a longer wait!!
