So When I got home today.. I found out My 175 watt ballast went out, and all I have on my tank are "2" 28 watt 10 k power compact's. My clams are still opening up, however my acro colonies are kind of spitting out slime. My question is will my corals survive shipping time for a new ballast?? While Im at work tommorrow I am going to try to get a loaner for a couple of days, but if that fails. I think i might have to have a buddy hold on to stuff for a little while. Any ideas would be great.

Figured as much. Corals are probably shipped longer than that. Just wanted to get a second opinion on it. I'll have to order one tommorrow. Thx again.

You can get 175watt MH ballasts for dirt cheap at normal retail places. I think even homedepot sells them for something like 40$ or so.

1 Acro Colonie starting to bleach a little, I decided to put my acro's in my 10 gallon for the meantime. I ordered a new Icecap ballast as a replacement.Got it coming nextday air.(F%$*@!G expensive). Rather spend $50 bucks on shipping than have to spend another $200 in corals. Thx for the replys

Update: 3 days after ballast went out and I got a new Icecap today wired, and fired it right up. Clams and acro's still alive (luckily).Hope they will pull through:). I was trying really hard to get it before the weekend. I wasnt home today to receive the new ballast, and was thinking that the next day air was a total waste of money. I was getting all frustrated(pretty funny)thinking that I wouldn't get it 'till Monday. Good 'ol ups has same day willcall and I was able to pick it up after work ^^. So glad everything has worked out so far.
