Well....after the mazzei project that i post few months ago, I've been working on a Beckett Skimmer for few days now and here's what i came out with. I wanted to have a skimmer that is compact and short enough so it could fit in my crowded cabinet. Normlally, i would use a buffle box, but i decided not to use one due to space issues. The foam you see in the collection cup is produce during 24 hrs of skimming.

Nice

Man, do you acutally use all of these beautifull skimmers that you build or do you just make them for fun?

Let me know when you start selling them. They seem to be just as good, maybe better, than the grossly overpriced options available from the fat cat pet supply houses.

Nicely done on the build!

Hey Reeffan, is it possible to check these skimmers of yours personally... and also your tank?

they are awesome...

I live in petrovitsky/carr road

Reeffan,
I hope you don't mind me asking a question But here goes, I was wondering what type or kind of fitting you used to go through the side wall of your acrylic tube.
Thanks

By the way some real nice work

Otter,
Not at all.....I use a rubber seal called UNISEALS. You can get this at auaticeco.com. It will also give you some info about the product. I dont have the part number on hand but i will find out when i get a chance to look for it. PEACE....

What are the dimensions on this baby? You stated that you wanted a unit that was compact and short enough so it could fit in your crowded cabinet. What pump are you using? Also do you have this hooked up and running on your tank yet? Pictures? This is essentially what I'm looking for, I guess if push come to shove I could go outside of the sump but would prefer inside. (I sent you an email today)

Footprint of this skimmer is: 7x7 (base) and 23.5" total height power by a MAG 18. But i think you can get away with MAG 12 since i have throttled back the water flow. Im at work right at this time, but i will post some current pics after work.
