I have acquired a 3" and a 6" leather corals and am not sure about tank placement. High water flow or low. 400 watt halides on 300 gal tank... Top, middle or bottom of the tank. Rockwork comes 1/2 way up 30" deep tank.

Mine used to like a pretty good amount of flow. Not diredctly at them, but indirectly. If they're not sort of swaying in the current, then you don't have enough. They need the flow to get rid of debris and when they slough off slime as they grow.

The leathers will also need to be in the bottom 1/3rd of the tank under 400s

they condis are going to move regarless of where you place them unless they like the place so get ready to move other corals around until they are happy. they will kill other corals with there sting.

I am over driving 400's and my large toad stool is about 2/3 up to the water line. Seems to enjoy it. I have directed more flow his direction and he's seemed to perk up in recent weeks.

Nice, my old ORA toadstool used to do fine up 2/3rds under 250s. I didnt know they could take 400s that well.

Nice to know.

My umbrella leathers and Tyree LE green toadstools like to have medium flow. Just enough flow so that their tentacles flow as if they're flowing in a breeze.

I'll send you a photo of it. Been growing it since this time last year from just under the size of a dime. Now it is about the size of a 50¢ piece. *lol* Very very flourecent green tenticles. I still cannot wait till it gets larger.

Cheers,
Alex
