Hello all. I am interested in getting different zoanthids to add more colors to my tank. Any suggestions on an online retailer or LFS? I live in Tacoma, WA.

Thanks,

DrewDown

Drew the really nice zoo's are hard to find these days and if you do your going to pay. I would suggest do a scan of our sponcers, usually if you make a request they can try to get some for you.

Oh yea and welcome to the board

How about anybody who have one who are willing to frag some... Im also looking for some variations.

I have some that I need to try fragging, as this colony is becoming overcrowded and they're starting to drop off.

Maybe after this weekend I'll be able to tackle this!

Here is what they look like, nice and green; although some have started to bleach out in the middle which I think is being caused by growing pains

Let me know if you've got anything to trade.... or not.

I bought them on e-bay

I found zoanthids under the "live coral" classification on e-bay. You pay a lot in shipping though. I bought a variety of zoos and shrooms from a seller called "saltydoggie" and had the shipping combined to make it less expensive. I was also looking for xenia and on a whim ask him and he had one to throw in for a small price and no extra shipping. The cool thing is that I did not loose a single item in the shipment. Even the xenia came through strong and thriving and was up and pulsing happily within the week. There are a lot on there - some at a better price than others. Have fun.

When mine gets a little further along I will frag them to share. Maybe I can help you out later.

I got some really nice zoa's from roesmarineworld.com. Along with them I got flat worms, and zoa eating nudi's. If you order from roe's make sure that you dip everything before it goes in your tank.

what color are your zoo's? i have some orange/green ones and some blueish/green ones.

i have a frag of the orange/green ones that i'm willing to trade for other colors.

Good point big T...I think we all should at least give a thorough inspection of new corals (from anywhere) before putting into the tank.

More zoos next door

I have no idea if you are still looking for zoos BUT if you are I saw 4 really nice rocks (there were 5 but I bought 1 tonight) of zoos. Nice colors on fist size rocks and covered to the point that they were actually hanging over the edges of the rocks. They were at our little known, local (to me) store called Under the Sea in Sedro Woolley, WA up by Mount Vernon, WA.

If there were interest I could run get pictures in the morn and after arrangements were made I could play delivery person to the meeting.

Wow what a lot of ifs.

A great store close to Mt Vernon....Where? I have not herd of this one!
I would like to check it out...beats the heck out of super comuting to Blue Sierra, Saltwater city and San Francisco (yeah I really have drove that far on the week end before!)

The things this hobby will make you do to find that "just right" coral for your tank....

Where in Sedro-Woolley

Under the Sea (a mini reef store) is on 420 Alexander St. Sedro Woolley, WA.
It is a great little hobbiest store run out of his house and is not open all the time. He is open weekends mostly and we usually call before running over. Number is 360-855-1685.
It is a great place for getting what you want because Nathan listens to what you are looking for and tries to order accordingly.

We had a guy pop in last week because he was looking for Under the Sea and he saw our tanks from the road. He is not the first to wonder past our OPEN sign wanting to look at the tanks instead of looking for help on computers.
