Best water if no RO

If you can't get RO water, whats the best to use in a pinch? Distilled? Thanks for your help.

You can always get ro/di from any grocery store for $.30 to $.50 a gallon. Hope that helps you

I went for years on the water from the Glacier water machines in the grocery stores with no ill effects. It always tested at or about zero ppm with TDS meter. I think it's an RO/DI filter inside the machine, but I'm not sure.

don't know where u live, but I have been getting my water from a mountain spring while I save up for an ro booster pump. I have a biologist friend who works for the state and he tested it to be pure. Haven't checked TDS, but it's been working well for me. Bought some water jugs in carrying boxes and I can do 75 gallons a trip. Works out to about 4 cents a gallon when I factor in gas.

Thanks for the replies everybody. I decided to wait until today so that I could get RO. My tank was very low, so I didn't want to wait, but I'll have this info for the future.

I didn't know that most grocery stores carried RO. I've always bought it from the LFS which was closed yesterday.

And it sounds like in a real emergency Distilled would be the best fallback.
