There is a quest fitting that is female on one end and male on the other with the push in quest tubing fitting T'd off of that, I think it is 1/4" pipe, maybe 3/8", HD should have it.:)

John Quest fittings are made of a tough plastic and have a sleve on the outlets where you just push your 1/4" plastic tubing in and it locks and won't come out because the harder you pull the more it locks it in until you push in on the sleeve to release it. Your ro/di unit ought to have some on it already where you hook up your lines. Mine came with the T fitting needed to put inline but you can buy them at HD, I did not see quest fittings at our Lowes store. It works like the one steve posted only that one is brass and a compression type. If you use that type make sure you get the inner tube to insert inside of the plastic tube so you have something inside the tube to compress against. Someplaces carry them with the inner sleeve and some you have to buy it seperatly, either fitting works fine.

You're concern about the copper pipe is good. But chances are your house is plumbed using copper. So behind the shut valve there more than likely it's a piece of copper. In rare instances I have seen them using Poly pipe now also on newer homes. So depending on the age of your house you might have this, But chances are you more than like have cooper. Which raises a concern true, but not sure how one can avoid it.

Steve, Is this a concern?

That copper pipe comes out of the faucet, it is made into the bottom of the faucet. It has water in it, I don't exactly understand what your cocern is????

You dont need to worry about the copper. Your rodi is going to take care of that for you.

What I'm saying is chances are the pumbing in your house is all copper. Behind the shutoff in the picture if you remove the nice little chrome ring chances are there's a cooper pipe there. That's what I'm saying. So worrying about the little peice going to the faucet is not a concern when you look at all the other cooper piping in the water path just to get to that faucet
Most homes homes built have copper piping for water lines. Does that make sense now?

It's a valid concern, but DonW answered. it.

true, my house pipes may be made of copper, but my house was built just last summer. so yea, i guess i dont have to be too worried anyways because the rodi will take care it anyways like steve said.

hey, steve, you know where i can get one of those pieces?
