I offered in the free forum, anyone willing to help me catch him...otherwise, anyone have any suggestions as to any fish that I might want to try adding that may help distract him enough to leave my clam alone?

If the tank is over 120 gallons with plenty of hiding spaces....Add another blenny.
A panther grouper can also help the situation.

Bryan - I had a bicolor blenny in my 120 gallon tank with ~140 pounds of live rock. It had a taste for my SPS, despite the copious amount of algae. It took sometime, but I caught him using a fish trap. He would sit out in front of the trap's door, and not go in...I'm sure mocking me! LOL. Finally, he was captured, and now lives in a nano with softies. I have no doubt in my mind he would have nipped at clams given the opportunity.

Oh - an afterthought, you might try and use egg crate or something to cover the clam up to try and keep the blenny from bothering it....I saw your post the clam doesn't even want to open anymore? I don't know if the fish can get thru the eggcrate, but maybe there is someway to rig it, until the blenny is captured.

Thanks for the advise. Yeah, I do need to make something to protect it, even if temporary, it will open about a half an inch is all and never come out very far.
Guess I'll probably have to buy and try a fish trap. Been putting my net in while feeding, hoping he'll get used to it and allow me to catch him, getting a little closer, but I think he's just to fast.
Oh and it's a 80 gallon, so no grouper or anything huge...Besides, I don't want to kill him (at least not most of the time), it's not his fault I stuck him in a little glass box.

I have a spotted grouper I'll trade you for the blenny :) The grouper is a pretty cool fish and is still fairly small at about 3". He was in the tank when I got it and have been wanting to get rid of him so I can add some smaller fish since my tank is only a 30G. He seems friendly and has never bothered my clown one bit. But I would have the same problem of trying to trap him....he's a fast one.

thanks, I'm not really interested in a grouper either... while beautiful fish, they just get to darn big...my baby clowns would be in trouble in no time!

I understand about the Grouper as I don't really want him either. I'll offer him up for free or he will visit the white bowl of death. I am interested in the Blenny if you are looking to get rid of him though. I will be around for this weekend but will be traveling for work all next week. If you catch him let me know.

Rather than killing the guy, at least give him to a pet store, or post free in the free forum.
