please take a look to my blasto’s and tell me your opinion ..
.. do they look ok for you ?
thank you

I have never kept blasto's personally, but these look as good as the ones I see for sale or pictures of on the internet. I would guess they are healthy. Bump for someone who has a little more usefull info than myself.

Thank you.:) :) .
.. I am asking because I don’t have experience …and I can see the skeleton of the coral .. .. and I don’t know if it something normal or not ..

525,

I've never owned a Blasto. IF I was told that what you pictured was a Blasto that was having problems... and asked to help figure out what the problem was... the only thing I would have to compair it to would be when I had a Bubble Coral.

The Bubble Corals have a similar underlying skeleton, that has the hard "ribs" if you would. When those ribs would poke thru the "meat" of the coral... they would get infected... and soon lead to problems for the coral.

Extream care was then needed to ensure water quality stayed as good as possible, and anything that may possiblly be irritating that place on the coral removed.

Please take this information as being from someone that has NO experience with Blasto's, but hopefully will spur the input from someone that does for you!

525,,,,, Welcome! Tell us a little about your set up. They look fine but they aren't at full extension. That is really no biggie it just depends when you snap the pic.

they look above average... good, dark pigmentation. Do maintain a hearty fish load or some such source of nitrogen... these corals are hungry and cannot live on light alone.

Blasto's are my favorite and I have 3 different ones. Here are my thoughts...

I have never had one do well in direct light. They seem to sunburn very easily and loose color quickly. This may prove to be true with yours also if the "poorer" polyps are on top but the underside looks healthier and fuller. All of mine are tucked under some sort of shading overhang and are very happy there.

Next don't forget to target feed. As was said before they are hungry and have big mouths. So enjoy feeding them even if it is flake food, they should be able to grab pieces and as you watch they will slowly pull it into their mouths.

I think they are beautiful. Good luck with keeping them happy.

Thank you..
.. I am trying for target feeding.. but the cleaner srimps are faster:( …
.. can I do the same with liquid food .. like ‘zooplex’ or ‘chromaplex’ or ‘coraliquid ‘ ???

the unrefridgerated, undated "food" supplements in a bottle are often nothing less than pollution in a bottle.

Regardless... most corals eat zooplankton, not phyto. Easy on the greens with LPS, bro.
