hi, i was wondering if anyone knew what to use to neutralize beach. I had to bleached some of my sand due to some hair algae, and I didn't want to just dump it in the tank without asking. I think its from a few bad batches of RO water.

Sodium thiosulfate is what I use to neutralize anything I sterilize in a bleach bath.

My phytoplankton cultures are happy....so far.....as well as the rotifer holding containers.

I use prime by seachem. I use it to nuetrilize bleach I use to regenerate purigen by seachem. I also use to nuet. after soaking freshwater plastic decorations in bleach to clean them. Or you can get pond stress coat at the fish store and treat a whole heck of alot more water for the same price as aquarium stress coat. Only problem is it makes skimmers go NUTS!!! Steve

Just information, I think 1 gram is about 0.03527 ounce , making the first link cheaper. Sodium thiosulfate is the basic ingredient in the commercial water dechlorinators you buy at the LFS or Petsmart, Petco, etc. This includes, Wardley's ChlorOut and Mardel's MarChlor. However, if you want a sufficient amount it is cheaper to get the actual sodium thiosulfate crystals.

Boomer :) can you chime in here, to see where its cheapest to get sodium thiosulfate crystals.

Thanks

Also just curious, are those your clowns (true perculas) in your avatar? If so, where did you get them from?

Thanks,
Ilham

yes they are true perculas, I got them from a guy that lived by me in mill creek that was moving. They lay eggs every now and then. I have always wanted to raise them, but i need to figure out how to raise their food. equipment, green water etc?
