blue throat trigger (Xanthichthys auromarginatus)

hello all

i purchased a male and a femal today.

the female is happily swiming between the lr but the male is lying on his side just lying here , he is not breathing heavy at all. should i b worried

How long have they been in the tank?
Moreover, how did they appear in the LFS, were they active and swimming around?
Do you happen to have a pic?


When I placed a male blue throat in my tank, he hid for 2 days, then would poke its head out from time to time. Now it swims all over the place and is eating nicely.

Give it time.

How long did you acclimate the fish? You say you purchased them today? Most lfs don't open until 10 am or so and you posted at 10:30. Just curious...Like Kirk said sounds like he's fine and just to give him some time...
