Bob Moore Frag swap

Reef Aquarium & Tank Building Forum

Help Support Reef Aquarium & Tank Building Forum:

I have two large colonies I'd like to contribute.
~8" frog spawn and ~8" hydnophora.
My problem is I'm probably not going to make it this year and I want them out of my tank! I live in Sequim on the OP and have tried to sell on craigslist but no luck. I'd be willing to meet someone at the ferry or kitsap peninsula. A trade for SPS possibly?

I'm not zerc but yes plz frag these up and bring em.

Okay, I have the frogspawn and the hydnophora.

They have been fragged in some really nice size frags.
These are really sweet peices. and quite a few of them too.

How does the coral swap work? Is there a certain time, or do you just bring in you own cooler for temperature management while you walk around?

You can bring your own cooler. PSAS is going to have a heated tub of water that you can float your bags in while you are there. they are working it like a coat check. great new idea!. doors open at 10am and close at 4pm I believe. there is more info here http://thepsas.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=2655

I'm just excited I get to go, but on top of that, its a work trip and I get paid to be there. Happy happy dance!
On a side note, anyone interested in seeing demos of my glass cleaning microfiber? Its the safest thing to clean the outside of your tanks with. Ill bring it if anyone is interested...

I would be interested I am maintenance company in Wenatchee. Sounds like something to help me out

totally had to walk away before i gave someone a lien on the house.
really nice flourecent orange polyp green based digi from zoathids.com, sunset and rainbow monti, green spongades and xmas favi
really excited to see them acclimated and opened up in the tank.
what did your haul look like?

I don't get why all the vendors had to be so crammed together. There was so much space there. Hadn't gone since '06. Might wait another 8 years again or pass on it totally. Where'd all the "swap" go? Prices were "meh"...

I think I overheard someone say it was for the outlets. I had a great time though, came out with some good palys and zoas, and the wife even made some good deals.

vendor placement is always going to be hard... but i kind of agree.. anytime you have that many people trying to look at a small tank, its going to be a pain. just have to be patient i suppose...

Indeed, that back corner by Natala (sorry if I misspelled it!) was constantly full of people. I had a great time there today, even with my lil one complaining of being bored lol

I agree, I walked out after being there for 20 minutes because of how crammed it was. I went in wanting to spend money on some cool stuff but couldn't even approach a vender to throw my money at. Didn't spend a penny.

no patience here haha.

It was an excellent event. Job very well done. Heard there was over 400 people there today. the event was extremely well organized an everything happened on time.

Yeah, if they started the PSAS tickets at 8001, they were calling numbers in the low 8200s for the frag raffle.

Kudos to everyone who put the event together and those that put in so many hours volunteering there today. It was great seeing friends, meeting knew people and putting faces to names of people I "knew" but hadn't actually met in person. It was worth the wait and having to be a little patient to get to the tables was worth it.

Any big event you don't have to wait in line a little to see a tank at, either the tank you are going to look at doesn't have anything good left or the event is poorly attended. If you have a ton of vendors then none of them will make much money and they will not come back next year. There were 20 tables of people selling stuff and every table had a line. I am not sure what you mean by where did the swap go, I personally traded over $100 in corals and I talked to lots of other people (even the businesses) who traded lots of coral. You just have to ask! Also, there were at least as many hobbyist vendors as businesses, so it was not just for "outlets".

Roar. I didnt even go and i wish i did. Ive never been. I have my reasons and its just that. My reasons. Ive been reading a lot of great things about todays event. And a couple of you here now are going to complain about a wait? Ive read friends of mine that have gotten 7, 4, 23, 37 and more frags. Different people all at the same event with enough frags for everyone. I remember reading about the swap last year. People complaing about needin a bigger space. They finally get one and now, your goin to complain bout having to wait? BOO FU****** HOO!!!
And THIS is the MAIN reason i have pretty much stopped even coming to this forum and all forums online for that matter.
