I have heard mixed reviews.
I did not go, so I am not one to judge, also have nothing to compare it to.
Anybody get good deals.
Was there a lot to choose from?
Many people trading?
Where prices reasonable?
Would you go again?

First time there. There was a lot of corals to choose from. Most of the good deals and negotiating were by people selling from their 'private' collections. I was asked if I was trading but did not have anything to trade - not sure how much actual trading went on. I did think that there would be more people there. I will be back next year - hopefully more will come as well....

It's funny....the swaps used to be dominated by swapping, not selling and it was a lot of fun meeting people and trading corals. Over the years it has turned into more of a "swap meet" where people sell at good prices; not a bad thing, just different. I stopped going when this change happened as I like the social aspect of it and the trading. Also, I think the location can be troublesome. That said, any location is troublesome for someone, especially in a club this size. Finally, I think some people expect this to be a hand out session and are disappointed when it is not....it's a swap - swap coral for coral, cash for coral, children for coral....whatever you want. I'm glad the club has continued to promote this event though...it is probably one of the favorite events of the members.

My staff had a great time and we'll be back as long as sponsors are welcome! I think its great that the club continues the theme of "pay it forward" by giving away free coral to members at this event. I heard members got 3-4 freebies each.

Hey, the exceptional freebies and deals are near the break down of the event. Things happen and it's sad to see frags go to the garbage when not big enough to bring home but big enough for growing out with a little tlc.

it would be great if actual trading was possible. but as much as I try to emphasize that is the original intent of the Bob moore frag SWAP people seem much more interested in purchasing corals than trading for them.....

Most members did get 3-4 frags. We actually ran through the post of raffle tickets 7 times before moving onto the dry goods raffle. After everything was said and done I gave away the remaining frags to some members that were sticking around.
