So I have been bored and sitting around doing just about nothing thanks to my shoulder. Since I am waiting on the parts for the 630 gallon tank I got to thinking, how am I going to fill that fast enough that I don't get bored watching the water creap up. My first plan was to put the entire house on a RO system then add in a large DI tank so I could pretty much turn the faucet on and watch the mixing tanks fill.
This was ruled out because I need something portable for now. My goal is to make it produce 600 gallons a day. So far I am at 400 Gallons and with a couple more add on's I will be at 600 Gallons.
I wanted to see what I liked best between the two (AquaFX / Specturapure) and now I know. I almost know the difference between the two and why the price difference. ahhh There is NOTHING different but the bracket and the housings is made with a different mold, maybe a different company. Yes all the AquaFX filters fit in the spectrapure and vice versa.
The top is the AquaFX and what I like about it is the bracket is metal so I am not worried it going to snap or break over time.
The bottom is the specturpure and what I like about this one is the bracket allows the canister on the far right to have the fitting facing out OR to the side like the aquafx. I can drill the AquaFx bracket but I would rather not expose the metal and have to paint etc.
My plan is to hard plumb everything to the mixing tank, who knows maybe I will give away water this summer to anyone that wants to stop by and chat. Keeps me out of trouble.
I am still waiting on parts to get it tuned in (gauges, TDS meters, check valves, etc) but this is my start of it.
