breaking out new/old asm mini

OK after a couple posts not im setting up a new 45 with parts I have not used. I bought a used asm mini bout a year ago. So im testing it out. I have the tank in my garage with fresh water in it plumbing and leak teating etc.. Anyway, this is the first time using the asm, so i was excited since im used to an old prism This thing is loud! and the bubbles dont look too fine at all. Would salt water foam up more than fresh? never tested a skimmer out on fresh before. And also does anyone know if its just these sedra pumps that are loud? maybe im better of using a different pump. The needle wheel looks fine, and its pumping water just fine. Just awfully loud hehe.

Yep you need sw. I wouldnt say all sedras are loud. My asm was quiet.

sedras are not loud, and it's not a sedra on that skimmer, it's a gen x 1000.

you need to mesh mod the skimmer and boar out the venturi for added performance. it will also quiet the skimmer down alot! also, take off the elbow from the pump outlet and plug the pump directly into the skimmer body. and a gate valve mod on the outlet also is great for dialing in the skimmer as well.

you live in renton, if you want , bring me the skimmer at barrier reef and i'll do all the mods you need, if your not inclined to do them yourself.
