Brown(Golden) Algae?

I am in the 3rd week of my tank's cycle.

I took readings today and they are at

Salinity: 1.026
ph: 8.2
Ammonia: 0.50ppm
NO2: 0.25ppm
NO3: 5.0ppm

I've noticed in the past week that some brown has started forming at the bottom.

It appears to be brown algae with a few dashes of pink from my live rock. Is there anything I can do or should do during the cycle?

looks to me like your tank is just cycling, mine had the same when i set it up. how large is the tank? lets see a full shot to see your rock-work!!

So, question, what have you been doing to your tank while its been cycling?

Now that you have detectable nitrates it is probably time to begin your water change habit to get the tank balanced out at 0 ammonia and 0 nitrate so you can start adding livestock!!

ohhh, and when you do the water change, don't be afraid to suck that nasty sand algae out, don't want it to spread breed!!
