BRS Dual Carbon/GFO reactor Question

I was wondering what the people that have these are using for pumps on this thing. Also how do I know if I have enough or too much flow. I started with a MJ900 and could not see any media tumbling. I was told a gentle tumble is what to look for in the GFO compartment. Now i have a Ehiem 1250 running and the surface of the GFO is barley tumbling but I can see movement. My next pump I have is a mag 5? Thoughts anyone????

I use maxi-jet 1200 on mine and have to dial it down a little with GFO and carbon, but run it wide open with just carbon.

I have my GFO tumbling using a Maxijet 1200. BTW...there are some great videos great video on BRS' website for setting the flow in these reactors. If you haven't seen them you should check them out. Good stuff.

I too use the maxi 1200. As Finn says, get a valve. You will want to slow it down when running GFO.
