Ok have got mag levels up and now I notice my zoas are loosing there color. They are fading and the skirts are getting white. Not all of them just the ones in direct light. The bryopsis oly seems to be getting alittle stringyer than it was. My wammin watermelons and orange centers with yellow skirts now and my new magicians are getting white from the skirt and moving into the disc. Are My zoas and palys going to die from this????? My sps is ok not having any problems.

What are your mag levels at? If done properly and slowly there should be ill affects on your corals.

+1
How many ppm did you raise it a day?

I did this on a zoanthid only tank and didn't have a problem with anything dieing other than the bryopsis.
Also did this on my 240 softy tank with the same results.

Ok My mag was at about 1000 when I first started the treatment 5 days ago. And now it's at 1600ppm and I'm out of Tech -M.......It took 64 oz. to get it to this point. I'm about to call it quits and just let it grow and pluck it out. If you let it grow it gets pretty easy to grab and pull.

And also I have read in the past on other sites it has to be raised rapidly to get the right affect on the bryopsis. But I think I fell into the 200 ppm or less a day theory on here.

just make sure the algae that is pulled is dead as live bryopsis will release off shoots and reproduce easily in the tank. keep at this level until you see die off then pull out...for some it may take as long as 6 months to eradicate it. need patience, consistency, and tenacious to defeat it..from the reading on other forums, ive seen them giving up, tearing down the tank and starting over..for me, it did take 4 wks before I saw some improvement and at 6 months it is completely gone and has been for 3yrs.

Thats great if you want my 80+ wammin watermelons and 30 sunny d's ans 4 magicians, and 40+ gold and pinks to just die off. And then the rgreen rocordia that are blue now, gone. I don't understand whats going on. I'm sorry , just mad that a little algae can kill my nice corals. I have never seen zoas and palys just start loosing color and going clear. I have had them melt and thats another mystory.

I know this can be frustrating. any chance u can move corals to another tank while the main tank is under treatment? unless algae is covering the zoas I would suspect mg increase is the cause, not the bryopsis..hang in there, hence I why I mentioned patience,etc....

Well the bryopsis isn't doing anything yet , but I now have some hair algae starting so I think my phos, and nitrates my be getting up there. I am working on getting some new test kits but think I need to do a big water change and get the zoas back and then try the tech m again. I was running some carbon and phosgaurd in a reactor and didn't know that carbon may be pulling the impurity out of the tech m that kills bryopsis.

I would agree that the carbon pulled most of the Tech M out of the tank...need to remove carbon, and adjust your skimmer to run wet...get level back to 1700 and leave for at least 4-6 wks...if a water change is performed, then redose the amount of Tech M taken out...

this will take time and you most likely will not see results over night...patience and persistence is needed to defeat this.

Yea did a 28gal water change tonight. And have replaced the phosban in the reactor. will wait a few days befor getting more tech m. I want to see if my zoas respond to the water change first.
