You can try to move it, but it will most likely try to move again.
It probably is not adjusting well to your lighting. How much lighting do you have?
You may want to find a similar lighting area in a viewable area of your tank and/or slowly aclimate it to your lighting by cutting back on your photo period.

Anemones are hard to acclimate. It will just take time and letting the anemone find the spot it likes.

I would leave the anemone alone. It will move until it finds a spot to its liking. It may not be the spot you like, but you don't get a say in this decision :lol:

It should seek light on its own when it finally aclimates to the aquarium.
It doesn't get that much protein from its zooanthaelic algae anyways.
Once it adjusts to your water params, it will start feeding more, and then seek out a place where it can gain the light it desires.
Disturbing it will just prolong the aclimation process and possible harm the animal more.
Like others have said, you don't get to pick where the anemone will be, it decides for itself.
If it needs more light, it we seek out the light.

I really wish they would stop importing anemones. With such a foul record in captivity, and such a slow reproductive rate in the wild it is a DAMN shame they collect such specimins. Anthony Calfo even took the time last night to harp on this very subject at our meeting. Please try to find something more suitable to the home aquarium. If you are trying to find something for your clowns to host to, try a frogspawn, or a long tenticle plate, or they even seem to like sarcophytans.

Or ensure you're buying a captive raised animal.
I agree, a total ban is in order. They should be banned, and we should have to support the market with only farm raised animals.

Yea, if you are looking for a clown host there are plenty of options other than anemones. This is one animal that should be left in the ocean. If you must try one there are tank raised out there.
