I have a large (slightly smaller than a volleyball) bubble coral that i rescued and have grown over the last couple years. It appears very healthy and this year it has gotten bigger and over the last couple of months it has started splitting from one larger system and a single mouth and it now appears to be splitting into about six separate animals. I havent confirmed if the splits are developing mouths. I additions it is forming small like one inch buds that look like minature bubble corals. I have done online research that says your can split the skeleton and it will slowly divide. I also read that it is possible to snip the buds to cause reproduction. I am concerned with nice specimen that I will not do anything that will harm it. It is attached to a small rock. 4 in by 2in. Will it move off new corals from the base? Should I crowd rocks around the base? Now the base is open. Has anyone had success reproducing bubble corals in an aquarium. What have your tried that hasnt worked. If I dont get solid info I wont do anything but enjoy it.
