stupid question, I am drilling my tank right now and can't remember where the gasket goes? inside or outside? and should I use sealer or not? Thanks all

bulkheads are designed for the flange and gasket to go on the inside or wet side and the nut on the dry side... never use sealer, it will cause the bulkhead to leak eventually

thanks for the help folks, more stupid questions to follow as I get this tank set up.

Gasket on flange side, which can be inside or outside of the tank. No sealant on the bulkhead.

Hi all I used sealant on my 4 bulkheads. Should I redo them. Had them on for almost a year. I put the rubber on the inside ( waterside) and filled the small gap around the souside before I put the nut on. Thanks steve

I was told that using a small amount of silicone to hold everything in place while installing was okay, but do not use the silicone as a sealer for the bulkhead.

Just what I've been told and my 2¢.

Thanks, Alex :)
