I have been thinking of adding a calcium reactor to my 30 gallon but have been told that it is not a good idea to put a reactor on a 30 gallon tank. The water volume is too little and without a sump , excess co2 cannot be expelled?????? I also have a 6 gallon fuge over the tank.
Any thoughts on this!!!!!!
Any suggestions on reactors??

On a tank that small I would say a good two part would be the best route to go, possibly the use of kalk as make up water. Do you have a large demand for calcium and alk??

If you build the DIY reactor in the link in my signature, you wont have to worry about dropping the pH dangerously due to the second buffer tube design. It's a safe reactor for any sized tank, and also very cheap and easy to tune. I have one on each of my tanks, includeing my 30gal.

But I agree with Mojo, unless your tank is just jam packed with high calcium needing animals, I would stick with doseing a 2 part.

I use about 15 ml of each part each day and it keeps increasing. I am also just looking for a way to automate this.

15ml is not much. You can easily do as Mojo suggested with a pair of aqualifters. I would definately dillute your 2 part so that you dont OD.

What do you mean by dillute? Mix the two part with water before I add?
At what point do you think about a reactor?

15ml is such a small amout to get a ccurate dose with a dosing pump. If you dillute it so that it takes closer to 60ml. It will be alot easier to use a less expensive dosing pump.
