I am getting ready to move next month and am looking for help/advice.
My move is local, 15 minute drive.
I need a few hands/experience to help to make my move sucessful. My date is Sunday December 5th.
My goal is for a safe and swift move. The December temps are going to cause a bit of a challenge but with some efficiency and lots of luck this will go off without a hitch.
Let me know if you can help. I really appreciate it.

It depends. I'm still waiting on the dinner for the last time I helped. :) I should be available.

Thanks Gordon for reminding me. :) I will have the BBQ set up and ready before we do the move and I will get some steaks and we shall feast after the move.
Thanks.
Karen

Mike I appreciate your offer and will give you a reminder call ahead.
Thanks very much.
Karen

I will be in town by then, and most probably not working yet so I'd be glad to help.

If you could send me a reminder pm and contact details a few days in advance though it would be greatly appreciated.

Best,

Rob

Karen,
A Kiddie pool really helped me with my move. I layed it down next to tank. I used a Medium sized Power head to move water for animals. If you had a heater, digital thermometer, and power head set up in Kiddie Pools you could take your time. The open space prevents breaking of corals. My move went quite well due to Kiddie pool, Angel, Zul, and Phillip. Just remember anyone that helps can say that they helped build that piece of art. I wish you the Best Mermaid.
sincerely

Thanks Rob I appreciate the offer. If you are in town and everyone that has offered to help follows through we should be set. Will send a pm closer to the 5th.
Thanks,
Karen

Ed,
That is a good idea but where does one find a kiddie pool in December? :) I will have to check around a bit. I remember that pond/tub from Paul Merklings move anyone know who that belongs to?
Still need to work out a few more details. Thanks for the suggestions.
Karen

Karan I have 90 gallon garbage cans and a 325 truck mount tank that we did the frag swap with. We can bag your corals and fish and box them (i got the boxes to) then transfer all the water to the truck tank and motor it over to the new location. From thier I will put all the water into the garbage cans so you can pump it from thier back into your tank, should be no problemo

I just did a redo of my tank a couple of weeks ago Karen. I have about 5 24 gallon tubs that worked out very well. Nice holding areas for coral, rock washing, etc ... they may come in handy for you. Also have a trashcan too ... :)

Thanks Chuck that sounds great. I appreciate that. Are you coming down for the move or should I swing by and pick them up?

Karen

I may be able to make it down, but you may want the tubs before moving day. Your call ... want them before so you can use them as part of your plan to move or do you want them on the day of the move and maybe not be as useful to you then?

Good call Chuck. I should get them ahead of the move. I will give you a call and figure out a good time.
Thanks,
Karen

Hi Karen,

Just wanted to let you know that I am in town now and should still be able to help out. Tentatively flying to Colorado on business next week which might change things slightly, but still plan on helping if you need it.

Best,

Rob

Yep Chuck the move is getting near and very exciting. I am looking forward to having a more space. I am going to give you a call this week and let you know about the pick up of the tubs. Thanks again for the offer.

Rob,
Help is always appreciated. I will let you know this week how things are looking as I get confirmation from others about the commitment level here.
I will send you a pm this week to let you know what things look like.
Thanks
Karen

Hi Karen,

I didn't hear from you so I assume that you had enough people for the move. How did it go, and good luck!

Rob

Just an update! The tank is moved. It went pretty well. I need to first thank the gang for all their hard work.
BIG BIG Thanks to Mojo, Fragman, Gordo, SalsaKing and Slander. You guys are awesome. Thank you will never be enough to express how grateful I am for you hard work!
Heat was a big issue late in the move because it was so cold yesterday it took alot of heaters to get the tank back up to temp. With my sump in the garage now I am still having trouble keeping the tank up to temp. Just some tweaking and it will be all good again.
The move went well but it took much longer than I thought it would. Two thousand trips to Home Depot and we were finished. Everything is in the tank but nothing is glued yet so that is todays project right after the twelve other thing I need to do.
Then get the canopy back on and fire up those lights. I will post pictures when I have some more time.

Thanks again guys for your help.
Thanks Rob also for your offer I appreciate it.
Karen
